WHY IRELAND?

We are always ready for an adventure and love Ireland as our destination because of its beauty, nature and greenery as well as our shared Irish heritage.

WHERE WILL THE WELCOME DINNER, WEDDING CEREMONY AND RECEPTION TAKE PLACE?

Our welcome dinner, wedding ceremony and reception will all be on-site at Cloughjordan House (CJH). Additionally, there will be a post-wedding day breakfast held on-site.

WILL WEDDING ACTIVITIES BE INDOORS OR OUTDOORS?

Weather permitting, our hope is that the wedding ceremony will be outdoors in the beautiful forest on the CJH grounds. The cocktail hour to follow will hopefully be on the lawn. Should the luck of the Irish not be on our side, we will get married in the lovely woodshed barn with the cocktail hour elsewhere indoors. Dinner and the reception will be indoors at CJH regardless.

WHAT’S THE WEATHER LIKE IN IRELAND IN JUNE?

Ireland’s weather in June is mild and pleasant, with long days and plenty of sunshine. Temperatures in the country during this month fluctuate, with an average high of 65 degrees to an average low 51 degrees (note: in recent years, the country has recorded warmer averages). Because it is Ireland, there will likely be some rain here and there, but showers typically arrive in short bursts.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR AT THE WEDDING CELEBRATIONS?

For our wedding day, the dress code is summer formal fun. For the welcome dinner and drinks, recommended attire is garden party - semi-formal or dressy casual.

As mentioned above, weather permitting, we are hoping to have our ceremony in the forest and cocktail hour on the lawn so please keep in mind for your shoes and any layers.

WILL TRANSPORTATION BE PROVIDED TO THE WELCOME & WEDDING DAY EVENTS IF WE ARE STAYING AT A ROOM BLOCK?

Yes, we will be arranging shuttle service to/from the venue for the welcome drinks/dinner and welcome day festivities. Timing is now listed on the main page!

WILL TRANSPORTATION BE PROVIDED TO THE DAY AFTER PUB HANG?

--If you're renting a car or able to carpool with someone who is, please plan to self-drive (as needed) to any of the below functions that you RSVP'd for on this day.

--We've connected with most guests staying on-site or at our hotel blocks to gauge if they're renting cars. Based on responses, we're offering a transportation option to Cloughjordan House breakfast from Abbey Court Hotel, as well as a transportation option to Larkins Pub for guests staying on-site at CJH and also at Abbey Court.

ARE KIDS WELCOME AT THE WEDDING CELEBRATIONS?

We hope that most guests will use our wedding as an excuse to travel throughout Ireland or Europe, and we understand that you may need to have your kids join on the trip to make this possible. The wedding day festivities will be adults-only with the exception of immediate family in the wedding party who may be in and out of events, but we have also arranged childcare on-site.
